Join the Parade
The first pride march took place in New York City in 1970. It was an act of courage by the LGBTQIA+ community who decided to end the silence and make visible the need for equality. Since then, pride marches and parades continue to be courageous acts to call for equality and celebrate the beauty of LGBTQIA+ identity.
Join the Parade – Groups, Floats, or Music
The more the merrier! Just like a flamboyance of flamingos, life is better when we flock together. Grab friends, dream up a theme, coordinate a dance, strike up a band, or decorate a float…however you celebrate, we’ll be glad to see you there!
Join the Parade – Individuals
Come as you are and join in!
Individuals assemble at 2:30 pm on Parade day in the Decorah Bank employee lot on Riverside Ave. You can walk, roll, or ride along. Please register any animals or motorized vehicles, otherwise just show up with positive energy!
AND
Individuals are also very welcome to join the final parade entry with our Pride Committee members and friends. We will be inviting parade watchers to enter the procession as we head down Water St to Party in the Park.
